Department of IT & Electronics, Government of West Bengal is committed to encourage Tech based entrepreneurial ecosystem in the State. Technology SMEs are considered as important source of innovation and employment generation. With this context it was envisioned that aspirant tech-entrepreneurs across the state should be better equipped with fundamentals of starting and scaling businesses. To achieve this, a five day “Train the Trainer” program has been designed for about 140 training partners of Webel Informatics Limited (WIL). During the program, the participants would be attending sessions on business strategy, marketing, fundraising, people management, compliance etc as well as benefit from experience of Industry mentors. These participants in turn are expected to deliver training to interested entrepreneurs in their respective areas. About 20,000 Bengal based startup aspirants are expected to benefit from this initiative in the next one year.
The event was inaugurated by Shri Bratya Basu Hon’ble Minister-in–charge, Department of IT&E. Shri Debashis Sen Addl Chief Secretary, DIT&E, Govt. of West Bengal and Shri Kaushik Halder Commissioner DIT&E and MD, WBEIDC also addressed the gathering. Senior officers of IT&E Department and WEBEL, representatives of industry bodies such as NASSCOM, BCC&I, ASSOCHAM were also present on the occasion.
